wrong payment assigned to invoice

I have an outstanding invoice in my acounting.

MYOB has wrongly assigned a pauyment made in 2019 to this outstanding invoice so the invoice is marked as paid.

How do i correct this 

and WHY? would this happen. That payment happened in 2019. it is now 2023. why woulid MYOB pull an old payment from records and assign this as the relevant payment - it's in pre-history.

 

and MYOB when will you have chat support.

    Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community Forum. 

     

    I'm sorry to hear about the payment being recorded in the wrong invoice. I understand the importance of recording the payment to the correct invoice. I recommend deleting the payment and redoing it to the right invoice, as there is no way to change the invoice the payment is connected to. As for why this was recorded this way, we will need more information regarding the payment. May I know how and when the payment was recorded?

      The payment was automatically applied. I didn't apply it.

      this has stopped my client being able to pay me.

      How do i reassign it.

      and WHY >?????? would it have been assigned to this invoice? they payment was made in 2019 and this invoice is from this year, 2023????

      How do i delete it? according to your help documentation I can't delete the payment. i need to assign it.

      This payment has already been assigned to its invoice from 2019.

      My client can't pay this invoice because it says it is already paid.

      How do i resolve this and WHEN will MYOB get chat support
