    Hi

No I am not reusing any profiles, that staff member was just an example to help put context around the issue.

I know what the changes are after the upgrade.

    Hi, CSANH

The estimated accrued balances are estimated now by the employee's last anniversary and today's date, meaning the calculations are (entitlement divided by 365 = times the number of days between last anniversary and today's date = Accrued balance)

As opposed to the estimated accrued balance only updating every time a payment is processed. So it is a very similar way of calculating; however, this way is better aligned with the Holidays Act. Please see the Help Article: Learn about payroll changes after upgrading.

MYOB Business uses a leave accrual calculation method aligned with the latest guidelines of the Holidays Act, so leave balances are only calculated and displayed in weeks. During the upgrade, leave balances in hours or days from MYOB Essentials are converted to weeks. Because of these changes, leave accrual balance amounts might be slightly different for some employees.

It states in the landing page and payroll changes that the leave accrual balances might be slightly different before and after the upgrade because of this.

    Best regards,

    Doreen

Where do we find the leave balance report? You said it would be back in the product in Q1, however I cannot find it?

    Thanks

    Hi BeckyOrmsby,

    Thanks for your post.

As I have checked with our development team, the leave balance report has already been logged as an enhancement in the payroll. The respective team is already aware of it. However, they haven't provided me with a specific timeframe for when this report will be available. But rest assured that they are working on it.

Feel free to post again anytime if you require further assistance.

    Best regards,

    Doreen

It is extremely important that we have this report.  I had to do the 2023 accounts without it and it was extra work that shouldn't have been necessary.  MYOB is supposed to provide software to make our jobs more efficient and, in this case, have failed to do this.

Please explain to the product development team about the importance of this and give us a timeframe for when it will be available so we know whether to wait for this or plow ahead and start our accounts without it.  The last answer said quarter 1 which has been and gone. Yet again MYOB has promised and failed to deliver. I am quickly losing faith in this product.

    Hi MurielT,

    Thank you for your feedback.

I understand the importance of the annual leave balances report for your work efficiency, and I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay in its implementation. I can see to our end that this enhancement request for the Annual Leave Balances report is currently in progress. However, I am unable to provide a specific timeframe for when this feature will be available. I understand that this is not the ideal situation, and I assure you that our product development team is working diligently on this enhancement.

I have added your post to the existing ticket for this request, which will help emphasize the importance of this feature to our team. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to share your concerns and experiences with us. We're here to assist.

    Cheers,

    Princess

I'm sorry Princess and I realise this is not on you personally but I agree with others on the forum that MYOB just doesn't care about their NZ customers anymore.  I was the sole advocate in my last office for MYOB where all the others were recommending other products to our clients. I am sorely disappointed and will not be recommending MYOB in the future unless there is a big turnaround in performance.

You say in your reply to feel free to share our concerns and experiences but it just feels like we are wasting our time doing this as it just goes nowhere. I know that a new report can't just be made out of thin air but surely from when the upgrade happened in August??? and then the feedback started coming through asking for this report to be replaced that something would have been done by now. If our clients asked us for the same thing and we took this long then we wouldn't have any clients left which I fear will happen with MYOB in NZ.

Now end of April and still not there. Maybe you mean end of April 2025/6/7/8/9 depending on the latest update from users and our questions

    Hi bkiwi99,

I understand your frustration about the delay and the uncertainty around the timeline. As of now, I don't have a specific date for the update you're waiting for. However, I assure you that our teams are working diligently on these updates. I recommend keeping an eye on our official channels for the latest information.

In the meantime, feel free to create a new thread if you require any other assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Shella
