About pop up regarding accepting payments upgrade now

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re doing well. We received notice yesterday that we have 12 days remaining to upgrade to secure invoicing. We’re wondering what would happen if we do not complete this upgrade, and if it is mandatory for us to proceed with it? Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi Tongil,

The upgrade is not mandatory, but if you do not complete the upgrade and verification process, then the invoice distribution functionality is disabled for you.
This means that you will be unable to send invoices directly from the software.

If you did decide not to complete the upgrade, you can still download a PDF copy of the invoice and send it using Outlook, Gmail, or any other email tool you have.

It's not mandatory but, unless we agree to online invoice payments, the program will not work the same way. You're making it so clunky that we have to upgrade. Have I understood that correctly?

That sounds like corporate bullying. And considering MYOB then charges 25c/invoice plus 1.8% of the invoice value for this practically obligatory service, it looks like yet another example of gouging.

CatherineCE I absolutely agree. I only use the invoicing to email to customers but not receiving any money through MYOB. So, downgrading the software for people who don't need that particular functionality and asking for personal details for no reason. Very sad result for a company like MYOB.

Hi Catherine..did I read that right? MYOB charges 25c plus 1.8% of the invoice value ? Why on earth would anyone agree to those terms. I am quite happy to receive eft payments from my clients direct to my bank account without MYOB trying to skim off the top. And then to disable the invoice distribution function if you don't upgrade is pathetic. Any time MYOB makes changes....it's to benefit MYOB....not the consumer.
