How To Change Electronically Paid Bill Category

Hi! We would like to change the assigned categories of our all electroinically paid bills however  becuase bills are already paid so we have to first delete the payments but as we have paid most of our bills through electronic payments account so we can't be able to delete the payments however only can reverse the payment and that doesnt has any impact on our bills and we still can't be able to change the categories.  please help us out.

    Thanks for your post. When bills are paid electronically there are two transactions recorded:

    1. the Pay bills transaction
    2. the electronic payment transaction

    To delete a Pay bills transaction that has been paid electronically you would first need to delete the electronic payment transaction.

     

    Having said that, reversing the Pay bills transaction should allow you to change the Category for that bill. If you're unable to change the Category go to Setup>>Preferences>>Security tab and make sure Transactions can't be changed; they must be reversed is not ticked.
