Import error 11

Hi.  I do a weekly import into AR Live from Retail Manager (previously a MYOB product). On 22/11/2023 for the first time ever I got an error message #11 when I did the import - which was for 1 record imported with warnings (this record was not skipped). Error 11 states 'The date you've selected is in a prior financial year'.  I checked all of the records in the import file and all dates are in the current FY. Now this has happened again today 29/11/2023 and again I have checked the dates on all the records imported and they are in the current FY.  I also checked 'company Information' in AR Live and our current financial year is 2024.  Interestingly I closed 2023 on 15/11/2023 - is this the reason for this error message suddenly appearing? If so how do I stop this happening each time I import Retail Manager records?  Appreciate some guidance on this.  Thanks

    Hi JanBQ

Thanks for posting your concern in the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue importing files from the Retail Manager. Error 11 does mean "The date you've selected is in a prior financial year", but this does not necessarily mean that the financial year in your import file is from 2022. The error means that the retail manager's import dates predate the AccountRight file's current financial year.

I suggest opening the AccountRight file and opening the Setup > Company Information window. This window will show the current financial year of the file.

This hopefully clears up your confusion. Let us know if you require any further assistance with this.

    Thanks,

    Genreve

Thanks for your replay but I don't think you have addressed the question or else I am just confused by your answer.

Imported a file from Retail Manager - I have checked the dates on all records contained in the file (sales and purchase transactions).  They are all dated in October or November 2023.

My compnay file in Account Right has the current year as 2024 ending in June.

Why would AR think that the dates in my import file aren't in 'the current FY'?  I have attached a copy of the MYOBLOG wihich shows the error message

    Hi JanBQ

Unless you have edited the log file, you will note that there are no details for the affected transaction. This usually occurs when there is a blank line at the end of the import file. Take a look at the import file to ensure there are no empty lines AR2023 might want to import.

    Regards

    Hi JanBQ

Thanks for your response and the information you've added.

I recommend checking what gavin12345 has mentioned in his response. If the issue persists after making sure the import has no gaps and the file is on the right financial year matching the imports, I recommend reaching out to AAAPOS for further help.

Feel free to create a new thread if you require any other assistance.

    Thanks,
    Gerneve

    Hi All,

We are in the same position.  We import every day at close of business.  these warnings come through intermittantly but seemed to start when we closed out financial year 2023.I have contacted AAAPOS & MYOB and both say that all seems to be in order.  My accountant has checked as well and all records are importing and going to correct areas.  Just concerning getting warnings all the time.  Have a look at reports from yesterday.

    Hi SIZECO

Thanks for the detail. Looking at the information, your retail.txt file foe 7/12/2023 has 16 transactions, 6 imported without warnings and 10 with warnings.

No transactions were missed, so what I suggested earlier to JanBQ is incorrect. Normally when an import log shows an error number and no details, this usually points to blank lines at the end of the import file that were skipped.

Your detail shows this is not what is happening. What seems to be happening is for any transaction dated before today seems to be treated as a 'prior year' transaction. Note you have 10 of the 16 transactions with 4 or 6 Dec and 6 dated 7 Dec. Looks like a faulty warning message.

    Regards

    Gavin
