MYOB will tell you that technically there is no limit. The only limit is the file size which is 4 GB (so lots of Items can be added/imported). I would suggest that based on reasonable reporting responses, the count should not exceed 5000. I have seen files with 45000 items and while this is possible, such a large number will 'tax' the system - response times and time taken to generate Inventory reports will be greater - and time out errors will likely occur.
