Payroll Error

When I try to enter Hours under payroll category Base Hourly, I get a warning message.

 

Paying this leave will result in a negative leave balance for ......

Current Balance 0 hours

Accrued this pay 0 hours

    Thanks for your post, and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum.

     

    Generally, the warning message is being displayed incorrectly, and the underlying figures will be correct. If you proceed with the pay, the employee’s figures will be updated correctly, and they will have the correct balance displayed on the pay slip. Reports and the employee's card file will also show the correct figures after the pay has been processed. 

     

    As long as the employee has enough leave to cover the amount of leave being taken, the warning message can be safely ignored.

    You have mentioned "As long as the employee has enough leave to cover the amount of leave being taken ......."

     

    But, my issue is that the error meesage comes for payroll category BASE HOURLY. This is not connected to leave.

     

    If it comes up for Leave Annual or Leave Personal, I can understand.

     

    How can payroll category BASE HOURLY generate an error message connected to leave balance when I try to enter base hours?

    Thanks for your response.

     

    Since it is only happening when entering the number of hours on the base hourly, we highly recommend checking all the leave categories to make sure none of them were linked to the base hourly, as this may trigger the error message.

  • Still the problem is there.

     

    When I try to enter normal hours, the leave exceed message is coming up.

    Thanks for updating us.

     

    Please confirm if you were able to check the window, as shown in the screenshot below.

     

     

    To check it, go to Payroll > Payroll Categories > Entitlements and then check each category that your employee is linked to. If the category is Annual Leave Accruals, it should be linked to the wage pay item Annual Leave Pay. The same goes with Personal Leave Accrual and Holiday Leave Accrual. They should be linked to Personal Leave Pay and Holiday Leave Pay.
