Hi there, I have a customer who has paid the same invoice twice so his account is in credit. He is now longer in business so I can't refund him -so I would like to "write it off" before the end of the year. This is nearly 2 years old now - please advise how I can do this. Thank you for your post. You can write off the invoice as a bad debt. To write off a bad debt, you enter a negative value sale to create a credit note that can be used to close the sale you won’t be receiving payment for.
