Employee PAYG Withholding keeps reverting to Foreign Resident

We have 4 employees whose PAYG Withholding is set at Foreign Resident when they are not Foreign Residents.

I go into each employee card file, down to Taxes and click on PAYG Withholding. When I use the drop down menu to select Tax Free Threshold and ok, it is like it saves but when you go back in again, it hasn't.

I have the most recent version of MYOB AccountRight.

I have also checked under the Command Centre, Payroll Category List and have the same issue.

Please help!

Thank you.

    Hi LeeQ,

    Thank you for your post.

Please ensure you are selecting the tax table from this location:

    Not:

When you open the PAYG Withholding category, this is just an information window on each tax table, it does not affect the employee card (hence why it will always revert to the top tax table - foreign resident). Only by selecting the relevant tax table from the dropdown (as pointed out in the first image) will affect your employee card.

Ok Thanks Sam - That makes sense and the Tax Free Thershold is selected in the area you have advised.

Only thing is when I recently did a pay for $480. It didnt take any PAYG - by my calculations from the ATO Tax Tables, it should have taken some tax???

    Hi LeeQ,

    Thanks for your reply.

Which categories were used in this pay run? Just Base Hourly? Were there any allowances that may be exempt from tax?

I would advise checking each of this employee's wage categories to see if any are exempt from tax (and if that needs correcting).

Let me know how you go.

    Hi

    Is the pay weekly?

If so then yes PAYG should be taken out

If fortnightly - then no PAYG

Check the employee card and check payroll details

wages tab is the frequency set up correctly

in Taxes tab is PAYG ticked

In standard pay tab does PAYG appear ( in bold)with calculated (greyed out) appear

    Hope that helps
