Merger of Sunsuper and Q Super - New fund

Hi Everyone

With the merger of Sunsuper and Q Super - I'm not sure 100% sure how to change over for my employees.

Do I just take them out of the Sunsuper account and move them to the ART new account which I've loaded from MYOB.

Although what has come up in MYOB has a different ABN to the information the fund has sent through to us. Could this mean the MYOB information is incorrect and should I let them know.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Lindy

  • Hi LindyMH

Thanks for your post. If funds have merged you will need to do the following within your file:

    1. Note down the new super ABN and USI
    2. Go to: Lists > Superannuation Funds
    3. Create a new Super Fund
    4. Enter the new USI to find the registered fund name
    5. Once entered, make sure the checkbox on the right is ticked
    6. Click OK to save the new Fund
    7. Open any employee's with the previous fund and change it to the new fund you've created.

Can you please confirm the new superfunds ABN and USI so I can check the details for you.

Hi  Melisa, Below is an excerpt from the email
Key changes for you as an employer

Please update our Unique Superannuation Identifier (USI)

    From 1 July 2022 Australian Retirement Trust’s USI will change to 60 905 115 063 003.

Please be aware that the previous Sunsuper USI 98 503 137 921 001 will cease on 30 June 2022.

Employers are required to update their employees contribution details to the new Australian Retirement Trust USI from 1 July 2022.

If you’re making contributions for any QSuper members there is no change, please continue to use USI 60 905 115 063 001.

    You have...

Employer Payment Details from 1 July 2022

Australian Retirement Trust members (Previously Sunsuper)

    ABN: 60 905 115 063
    USI: 60 905 115 063 003

    QSuper members

    ABN: 60 905 115 063
    USI: 60 905 115 063 001, or
    USI: 60 905 115 063 002

Don't worry, there will be a transitional period between 1 July 2022 and 31 October 2022 should you be unable to update your systems to the new USI and we’ll continue to accept your contributions during this period. We'll send you a reminder to let you know that you will need to update the USI.

From 1 November 2022 contribution data and funds will be rejected if you continue to use the former Sunsuper USI and any contributions will be returned to you.

I have been sent an email with an updated USI for Australian Retirement Trust ( Previously Sunsuper).

The USI is now: 60 905 115 063 003. Will MYOB be updating this? I also have one employee who has a QSuper fund and their USI remains the same (60 905 115 063 001) will there be some sort of differentation within MYOB for this?

Has this query been resolved as I am trying to change my employees sunsuper USI over to the new one for Australian Retirement Trust.  The USI for sunsuper was 98 503 137 921 001 and it should now be changed to 60 905 115 063 003 for Australian Retirement Trust.

    Hi LinLeofinancehouse05

Thanks for the details. As per that email the changes take into effect from 1st July 2022, the details should be updated when required. In the mean time the previous USI is listed on the MYOB Superfund list

Do let us know if you have any further questions.

    Hi,

Does the below mean we need to go into 100+ employee cards individually and change them?
