Company file

Our business entity has changed, with 2 partners leaving the business.

We have had to establish new TFN ABN new bank account etc in the remaining 2 partners' names.

My question is how can I set up the new company file on MYOB AccountRight (desktop), whilst still having access at this point in time to the previous file.

Success in creating new file.
I would like to import the accounts list, and suppliers/customers from the previous company file, but I can't find it. It's listed on my library in MYOB, but I am directed back to the C drive to find it, and I am going in circles. Any suggestions, greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hi DJLJWLRCPC,

Sounds like things are changing a bit on your end. Because you’ve now got a new ABN/TFN and ownership, you’ll want to treat the new ABN/TFN as a new entity in AccountRight.

In AccountRight Desktop, create a new company file for the new setup:

Open AccountRight

Click Create a company file

Enter the new business name, new ABN/TFN, and new bank details

Choose the correct financial year and conversion date

For the old file, I’d recommend taking a backup so you can restore it any time you need to look something up or refer back to past data.

Hi DJLJWLRCPC,

Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to find a company file in the library. I recommend checking out the Manage Libraries help page, which walks you through how to locate it.
