Hi AOman,
Creating a new file and starting the partnership from there certainly is the cleanest way to go about the transition.
You can’t delete the old file, but we can switch off the online subscription for it so it becomes read‑only, and you can re‑use the entitlement on the new file.
Best way to do it:
- Back up the old file for your records.
- Set up the new partnership in a fresh file (steps here):
https://www.myob.com/au/support/myob-business/get-started/welcome-to-myob-business/create-a-company-file - Then, as the primary/billing contact, jump into My Account and create a ticket or get in touch via our live chat team through MOCA, our virtual assistant.
That’ll give you a clean break between the old and new partnership without paying for an extra file.
