MYOB Stuck in Backup Process

Hi Everyone

 

I'm having trouble I started my backup this afternoon and it was taking ages and not processing so I closed MYOB and now it's stuck in the back up process and won't let me back in.

 

Can you please help I need to be able to get into my file and get it back up and running before by the morning

    Hi Everyone,

     

    That's a rough timing, especially after doing the right thing and updating everything the day before. Totally get how challenging that would be with your file having a backup error. This one's a bit of a tricky one to sort from our end here, best bet is to jump onto our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so the team can run a quick script on your file and get that lock cleared up for you.

    Problem is solved. Go to Setup > Pref > Select Offline Backup.

    Setup > Pref > Security > Select Enable Offline Backup.

  • I am having the same issue now. Ran a backup today. Backup screen was different. It looks like it was doing an online backup as opposed to the old Offline backups. Now I can't get back into MYOB AccountRight

    Hi Pratha07,

    That definitely sounds like a hassle, especially when the backup process suddenly looks different and you can’t get back into MYOB AccountRight afterwards.
     

    You’ve done the right thing creating a support request, as the easiest way to get this fixed is by reaching out to our support team.

    Is there any way to avoid this in future? My colleague apparently had run the online backups since it started back around 14th MAR26 & had no problem. Only when i attempted it for the 1st time on FRI 5th June it got stuck in the backup process. I see other people have had this issue too. Do you know what is causing it & how to avoid it moving forward if we continue to use online backups?

    Hi Pratha07,

    That’s a fair question, especially if online backups had been working fine before.
     

    At this stage, our team is still investigating what’s causing this and the best way to prevent it going forward. For now, I’d suggest making sure other users are signed out before starting the backup, as interruptions during the process can cause issues.
