Your first point about improving performance is incorrect, as offline backups have nothing to do with the performance of the program when it's open. The other part of that statement about improving security is against industry best practice that requires several backups stored in separate locations.
I don't see the point about offline backups having anything to do with current supported technology.
If our file is online then it's getting the frequent improvements. The offline backup is there in case of emergencies. As to the last point about industry best practice, please provide me with the documents that state that, and that having multiple backups stored separately aren't best practice.
As to the needs of MYOB's customers, seems most of them aren't happy with offline backups being removed.
Now answer me this, what happens if MYOB's servers and backups are taken out? How then do we restore our data file?
