Hi SDee,
Exporting to Excel is a big part of how you keep things running, so when it stops working after the Jan 2026 upgrade and just sits there thinking, it's not what you need. You can run a few quick checks to get that Excel export talking to AccountRight again:
- First, make sure you're using a supported, locally installed version of Microsoft Excel 2010 or later. Excel Online or LibreOffice will not work with AccountRight exports.
- If Excel was installed after AccountRight, reinstall Excel first, then reinstall AccountRight. That refreshes the connection between the two.
- If clicking Export does nothing or it's greyed out, try opening AccountRight by right-clicking its icon and choosing Run as administrator. If exporting works in that session, reinstall AccountRight by right-clicking the installer and choosing Run as administrator so those permissions stick.
- If you have recently changed anything with Office or Windows, run an Office Quick Repair as that often restores the Excel integration.
Once you've tested those steps, give the export another go and if it's still not working, you can reach out to our team so they can check what's going on. Make sure to contact them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account.
Cheers,
Doreen
