Report Exporting to Excel (want to change white background!)

Using MYOB AccountRight Premier.

When exporting report to excel, I am facing the following issues and want to change them.

Please advise how to achieve these?

1. White background

    Exported excel shows white back ground. This looks nice but difficult to see line items witout any cell lines.

    I guess many accountants feel same but how to change this? I tried cell formatting but could not change them.

2. Text rather than numbers

   All cell informaiton was exported as text even only number cells.

   Most annoying thing is negative numbers are exported as #### cr rather than simple negative numbers.

   This makes difficult to manage to alter and edit as reports.

   Any solutions?
