We released this report with the intention of only users with payroll permission being able to view it. We have since made some changes to ensure visibility of this report is only for users with payroll permissions enabled.

I am aghast that it took 18 days to get a reply to such a serious breach of confidential data being made accessible to staff.
It is a shame that a decent product like MYOB is being so badly managed, this is not the first data breach I have reported and had to get resolved.
I have personally used the product 25 years and our current company for 15 years.
I would have thought that a company like MYOB would have adequately tested the change before releasing it. The consequences of releasing this type of information widely through a small to medium business could be devastating.
In my opinion the behaviour of sending out updates that are clearly unproven is both unprofessional and bordering on reckless.
Perhaps in MYOB's opinion it is a good thing that the customers that you show disregard for are small businesses as it’s harder for us to get compensated.
