Job number not importing on JNL entries

Hi there!

I am trying to upload a 'transaction journal' however each time I am getting the following error which appears to relate to the job number as when we look at what has imported, everything is there except the job number.

We do other uploads that include our job numbers and have no issues, but these journals are a constant issue.

I have checked the formatting and cannot see what the issue might be.

I have attached a notepad copy of the import file and the error file.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

Many Thanks

Donna

    Hi donna-r

Thanks for the screenshots, they’re really handy. Those messages look scary, but in this case, they’re warnings, not errors. The import has actually gone through; it’s just letting you know some of the ID numbers in the file aren’t being used because they’re not in a valid format.

When that happens, AccountRight reverts to its own defaults for those IDs and continues importing the rest of the data.

If you want to stop Warning 80 – ID number invalid from popping up, the easiest fix is to remove the transaction ID column from your import file (or don’t map it at all when you import). Everything else can still import fine without that field.

Thank you for your fast response Genreve, the problem is that the job numbers are not coming though on the import, the import number is fine.  Why are the job numbers not coming though?

    Thank you

    Hey donna-r,

Since the import number is coming through fine but the job numbers aren’t, it’s worth checking the following:

    • Under the Setup menu, head to Preferences then System and make sure “Warn if jobs are not assigned to all transactions” is ticked
    • When opening the import file in Excel, confirm the job field cells are formatted as General, as setting them to Text or Number will cause the job to be skipped during the import even if everything else looks right

If those checks are all in place and the job numbers still don’t show after importing, make sure to reach out to our team and they’ll be happy to take a closer look with you. You can contact them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account.

    Cheers,

    Doreen
