Job number not importing on JNL entries

Since the import number is coming through fine but the job numbers aren’t, it’s worth checking the following:

• Under the Setup menu, head to Preferences then System and make sure “Warn if jobs are not assigned to all transactions” is ticked
• When opening the import file in Excel, confirm the job field cells are formatted as General, as setting them to Text or Number will cause the job to be skipped during the import even if everything else looks right

Thank you for your fast response Genreve, the problem is that the job numbers are not coming though on the import, the import number is fine.  Why are the job numbers not coming though?

Thanks for the screenshots, they’re really handy. Those messages look scary, but in this case, they’re warnings, not errors. The import has actually gone through; it’s just letting you know some of the ID numbers in the file aren’t being used because they’re not in a valid format.

When that happens, AccountRight reverts to its own defaults for those IDs and continues importing the rest of the data.

If you want to stop Warning 80 – ID number invalid from popping up, the easiest fix is to remove the transaction ID column from your import file (or don’t map it at all when you import). Everything else can still import fine without that field.
