Current Financial Year showing 2022, but I have FY2025–26 transactions and reports

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction before I make any changes to my MYOB Business file.

In Business Details, MYOB shows my Current Financial Year as 2022 (1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022).

However, I have been using MYOB Business throughout FY2025–26 and have successfully:

  • Entered all my 2025–26 bank transactions.
  • Reconciled my bank account.
  • Generated a Profit & Loss report for 1 July 2025 – 24 June 2026.
  • Generated a Balance Sheet as at 24 June 2026.

Everything appears to be working correctly, but I'm concerned because the Business Details page still says the current financial year is 2022.

When I click "Start New Financial Year", it wants to roll from FY2022 to FY2023.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Should I continue rolling forward each financial year, or could this affect my existing 2025–26 data?

I've also lodged a support request with MYOB but thought I'd ask here in case anyone has encountered the same issue.

Thank you!

    Hi thewrittenseed

I can see why that would feel a bit worrying. From what you’ve described, though, it sounds like your FY2025–26 data is still there and working as expected. MYOB Business can let you enter transactions and run reports in a later year even if the Current Financial Year in Business Details hasn’t been rolled forward yet.

If your 30 June balances and reports look right, you should be fine to roll forward one financial year at a time. I’d save copies of your key reports first, just to be safe.

Good call logging it with support too, in case they need to check anything specific in the file.
