Possible Match Incorrect

Good Morning

I am new to this process and MYOB as newly elected Treasurer of Not for profit Club.

I have just experienced MYOB doing a "Possible Match" to categorise in banking transactions and it was incorrect on a couple of levels.

The transaction was for $180.00 to be allocated to an event.  However MYOB matched it to 2 invoices I had raised for a total of $1500.00 ($750.00 each invoice for same person).

The only link I could see was that the bank entry for $180.00 had the same surname and the invoices raised but not the $ amount or first initial of the people matching.

Also saw date of entries changed to 2024 to 2025 instead of 2025 to 2025

Fixed the category to correct allocation not sure what has gone on or if I have caused a problem trying to fix entry

    Hi TTACC,

Thanks for spelling that out. Totally understand how that would throw you off, especially when you're new to the system. Possible match suggestions mainly go off name similarities, so if the surnames match it can sometimes link the wrong invoices, even when the dollar amount or initials don't line up. Sounds like that's what happened here. We've had a few other users run into similar matching issues, and this post might help too: Incorrectly auto matched bank transactions | MYOB Community.

You did the right thing fixing the allocation. Changing the category to the correct one won't break anything, so no stress there. The date flipping is bit unusual though. Try logging out of the browser, or clear your browser cache and log back in to see if it refreshes properly.

If anything still looks off after that, best to reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so they can check and sort it out for you.

    Regards,

    Sai
