Hey fullofquestions,
You’re on the right track and it could be a tiny setting with your petty cash account that's getting in the way. It's worth checking with your accountant to see if your petty cash was set up correctly. Also, if your cash‑on‑hand isn’t linked to a real bank, there won’t be a bank statement to match. You'll need to record your spends/receipts to petty cash and reconcile manually to your cash tally instead. Lastly, below are a couple of help articles to give you more info with reconciling.
- Reconciling your bank accounts (See FAQs: How do I reconcile a cash-on-hand account?)
- Petty cash

Hi Doreen
Thanks for your assistance, however, it doesn't resolve my query.
I want to know what setting to change to be able to reconcile my Petty Cash, it is set up as a bank account but does not show in the drop down box in the reconciliation window. I am a bookkeeper but have not used MYOB Business before only AccountRight so am not sure what I need to change.

Hi fullofquestions,
Good call flagging that, all bank account categories should show up as options when you’re doing a reconciliation. Not sure why it’s not appearing on your end, but a quick trick that often works is typing the account code into the dropdown, it usually makes the right one pop up. Worth a try.

Genreve
