Logging in with new email address come up with erro

Hi, I've just updated my email in myMYOB, but when I use it to log into MYOB Essentials, it gets to a screen "Link a User ID to your MYOB account".  There are fields for User ID, which currently has "Administrator" in there, and Password (screenshot attached).  I'm unsure what to put in the User ID.  Is it my old email, or my new email?  I've tried both and clicked "Link User ID and open file" and it always comes up with "Something went wrong".

Grateful for any help.

Cheers, Jacqui

  • Hi, Jacq256. Thank you for your post.

To troubleshoot this, can you enter the User ID as Administrator and leave the password blank? Does this allow you to sign in?

If you are still not able to sign in, let us know if you require further assistance and we are here to help you.

    Hey jpotit

I'd recommend getting a file administrator to open the file up from the desktop version, click into Setup > User Access and double check if there is an inactive user linked with the login email you use.

If there is, you'll want to untick the option "This user will sign on with a my.MYOB account." and save. This will remove the login email from the inactive user. If you've got another active user setup linked to the same email address you should be able to log on now without an issue. Otherwise you'll need to create a new user and enter the login email and click "Save and Invite User". Click no when the prompt comes up to update in my.MYOB as well.

    Cheers, Amanda.

  • Dear Hannah,

I encountered the same issues however I followed this post and clicked on blank password and administrator as user and it gave me an error message screenshot attached. Is there any other way around this you might know of?
