Forum Discussion
Hi Genreve
I am trying to upgrade my Co File before I sign up for a subscription to make sure it will work.
I dowloaded the Myob AR as per the link you sent (photo attached)
I can't use the "Open a Co file" as my file is .dat and it will open only .myox files
So I am trying to use the option "Upgrade Co file'
I managed to go through the user Id and password as per your msg, then I signed in but after I clicked "upload" I got an error msg.
Can I send you the Errorlog through here ??
What else should I try ??
I don't want pay for a subscription if I am not sure if I will be able to use my current Co file
Thank you
Hi kirra,
Thanks for your response.
In my understanding, you don't need to upload the file at this stage. Instead, you need to convert the file to a myox file (the file is successfully converted to a myox file if you successfully opened the file in AccountRight 2023.11). If the file is converted to myox you can then fill out the form (you need to have an active subscription of business lite before filling out the form).
Feel free to let us know if you require any clarifications or assistance.
Thanks,
Genreve

Hi Genreve_S
The question by Kirra doesnt seem to have been resolved. It was, how do you open or convert your current Business Basics v1 .dat file in the new accountright software? This asks for a myox file while doing the inital setup, and wont progress without it.

Hey Raziel1972,
You’ll need to do first is upgrade your existing BusinessBasics v1 .dat file into AccountRight v19 on your computer (the local version), which will convert that old file format for you. Once you’ve got it upgraded, you’ll then be able to open that upgraded file in the latest AccountRight Live and continue on from there, so you’re not stuck at that setup screen asking for a .myox file.
Cheers,
Doreen

Hi
Theres many versions of v19, (Plus, premier, standard, though the standard just seems to be a update file?) Which exact one should I try?

Hi Raziel1972,
Good question, there are a few flavours of v19 floating around.
For the step‑up from BusinessBasics, it doesn’t really matter whether it’s Standard, Plus, or Premier; any AccountRight v19 desktop version will do the job for upgrading the file.
If you’ve already got one of them installed, just use that one to do the upgrade. If you’re downloading fresh, I usually go with the latest AccountRight Plus v19 for your region and use that to run the upgrade.
Once it’s upgraded in v19, you can then open it in the latest AccountRight and continue with the rest of the migration steps.
Regards,
Genreve
