I have a payroll problem. 2 final pays were calculated incorrectly and the Chat told me to delete the pays and then re-enter the new pays. Unfortunately this has left me with an error in my pay day filing. $6,223 PAYE is now showing as owing at IRD. How do I fix this?

Sorry you’ve run into this after correcting the final pays. Once the return has posted on the IRD website, it can be amended to a zero pay. This may take 1–2 working days or longer. Log in to the business myIR account, go to Returns and transactions, select Returns, choose the relevant pay date, click View information, select the employee, and click Amend. Enter zero for the gross earnings, PAYE, KiwiSaver, and all other deductions, then click Next, review the details, and submit the amendment.
