Solved

Fund can no longer receive contributions.

I have a new employee who I used employee self onboarding in Payroll. She has the superannuation fund: Hostplus Superannuation - Basic. However, when I go to pay his superannuation I get a message:

"This fund can no longer receive contributions using Pay Superannuation. Please edit the fund from the Superannuation Fund List window and select a valid Fund Name for it."

I have checked all of the fund details entered and also confirmed this information on super fund lookup.

Hope this can be easily resolved.

  • Hi kevinmargetson and trouble99

I see this problem a lot when employees are onboarded through the onboarding software. The issue lies somewhere in the setup of the superfund during the onboarding process as it is not checking that the fund details have been entered correctly. ie CBus Super is actually 'CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING UNIONS SUPERANNUATION FUND' and must be entered this way. Without this the USI is not added into the setup and in some cases the SPIN is also wrong.

The solution is to re-create those funds in the Payroll Settings as follows, using CBUS as an example:

    • Edit CBus Super by adding the word Old onto the end.
    • Add a new fund selecting 'CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING UNIONS SUPERANNUATION FUND', it will have the same ABN as the previous one but the SPIN / USI will be added into the setup.
    • Edit the employee so that the fund selected is the new 'CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING UNIONS SUPERANNUATION FUND' and not the old CBus.
    • Pay the super

Re-creating the fund details works in every case of this that I come across.

I have the same issue with Hostplus Superannuation Fund and CBus. I am calling up MYOB Support and have been waiting online for over 45 minutes. The advice of waiting time is 1 hour, but every few mintues, the voice over the phone said "waiting time is over an hour. In the mean time, check resources online for support". What else can we do to fix these issues?

Please let me know if you have any success.  I am getting very frustrated with MYOB.    I sent an PayDay Super Change of Details form today and the email bounced back because the MYOB email inbox in full !  I have over the past month sent approx. 6 of these forms for different clients and not one has been actioned yet !

Kevin, to solve Hostplus issue - go to Payroll Tab - select your employee's name - select payroll details - select Superannuation - select Hostplus Superannuation Fund - Basic - press Save.

Please try to lodge the super payment for this employee. It should works now. Good luck Kevin.
