Yes, what you’re seeing can happen if the earlier super payments were made through the ATO super portal or another clearing house instead of through MYOB. Those older payments don’t automatically flow back into MYOB Pay Super, so they can still appear as outstanding in MYOB even though they’ve already been paid. Before you start paying super through MYOB from your next pay date, the safest thing to do is:
- reconcile your super liability in MYOB so you can see what’s already been paid outside MYOB
- confirm your cut-off date so there’s no overlap between the old method and MYOB Pay Super
- make sure you don’t submit any past periods through MYOB that were already paid via the ATO portal, as this could cause a double payment
So in short, you can move to paying through MYOB going forward, but you’ll want to treat the earlier ATO-paid amounts separately rather than reprocessing them in MYOB.
