Forum Discussion
Hi andrew18,
Thank you for posting your concern in the forum.
Generally, if the item shows blank in the description column of the report, it's likely that the item description was not set properly for that item. The Customer Sales (detail) report pulls data from the inventory item description and not the invoice item description. This is also the reason that there is no information in this report if the invoice layout is service (because it is not connected to any items).
You will need to open the inventory item setting and edit it from there.
- The information in the description box in this window is the information that the report shows.
- If the "Use item description on sales and purchases" button is marked check, the values of the invoice lines for that item will autofill from the description in this screen.
Let us know if you require any further assistance. We're happy to help.
Thanks,
Genreve

Thanks Genreve
Is it possible to have the item description from the invoice added as a selectable column.
Our invoices are imported in bulk.
The item description is the generic use of the item (ie 42000 “Day Program”).
The import imports the item number 420000 and a description of the unique service for that entry (ie 42000 “Thu – Coffee shop”)
It is the description of the “Thu – Coffee Shop” we need to show on these detailed reports.
The detailed report in the legacy desktop version shows this description.
I am trying to move our operations into the new version of AccountRight, however this is a feature that will be required for us to successfully move over, along with import options using .txt files.
Thanks

Hi andrew18,
Unfortunately, there is no way to add that information to the report currently. Rest assured will raise this as a suggestion to the development team. For the import file, the newest version of the AccountRight application could support txt files as import files.
Let us know if you require any further assistance with this. We're happy to help.
Thanks,
Genreve
