I am trying to backdate monthly rental sale invoices and get this message. I have opened up the financial year that the first invoice belongs.
"You cannot automatically record transactions with start date earlier than the current system date.
You can manually record these transactions using the To Do List."

You can save a recurring transaction with a start date prior to the current date, provided the date entered is within the current financial year and is not in a locked period.
