Credit card payments not working

We have recently set up credit card payments for customers, however it is not working when using the credit or debit card option. The customer receives the following error:

Paypal payments are working fine.

Any advice on how to fix this please? Is it set up incorrectly?

    I understand that your customer needs to use a credit or debit card option when making payment. If your customer is seeing the error message "Unable to authenticate payment" when trying to use a credit or debit card, it likely relates to the 3D Secure authentication process. This is a security protocol that provides extra protection for online payments by authenticating the cardholder, similar to entering a PIN for an ATM transaction.

     

    Here are a few things to keep in mind:

    • 3D Secure is managed by the bank. The authentication process is initiated by the bank, so sometimes the customer might not be asked to enter a password or code.
    • Not all banks participate: Some banks do not use 3D Secure, which can affect the authentication process.

    If the issue persists, the customer may need to contact their bank for assistance.
