Recurring transactions from Desktop to Browser not working.

I have been using MYOB desktop version for over 20 years and have hundreds of recurring templates for sales and purchases. Trying to change to the browser version I keep getting error messages when I try to use my recurring transactions for sales.

After testing setting up new invoices in the browser platform that successfully saved with blank lines, and with the help of the AI support chatbot, I discovered that you cannot save as a recurring transaction any invoice/bill with blank lines as it tries to verify the category and tax code fields which are not present. The only option is to delete all blank lines and then the invoice will save as recurring.

I believe this is why none of my recurring transactions built in the desktop version will work in the browser. I'm sure I'm not alone with this error and frustration which could possibly be fixed by not requiring the blank lines to be validated for category and tax code fields.

Has anyone found a way to make their sales recurring transactions from desktop work in the browser version or do the programmers need to fix the validation process for these to work?

I don't want to have to rebuild every template in the new format.

    Hi Me005,

Thanks for sharing the testing you’ve done. I can see why rebuilding hundreds of recurring templates isn’t a practical workaround. Desktop and browser handle recurring transactions differently, so templates created in Desktop may not work in the browser when they include blank lines. These lines can trigger validation for missing category and tax code details. For now, the workaround is to remove the blank lines from the invoice or bill, then save it as a recurring transaction in the browser. You can do this by going to Banking > Recurring transactions, or by opening the invoice or bill and selecting Save as recurring. The browser version supports recurring invoices and bills, but each included line needs to have the required details.

      Thanks Sai

Unfortunately that is not a reasonable work around for long term businesses that have hundreds of recurring templates in the desktop version wanting to transition to the browser version. The programmers building the verifcation of lines need to code the system so it understands that a "BLANK LINE" is not going to have an account or tax code field ... pretty simple if you ask me. I feel that it's a case of lazy programming to allow a blank line to be entered when building an invoice even in the browser version, and then not tell the software that a blank line will not have these fields and therefore verification is not required. Please get back to me when the coders get their act together.
