AccountRight Negative Inventory Value

Good morning,

I noticed that one of our products had a negative inventory quantity on hand.

When looking into the item history I found it had been sold/invoiced without the stock showing as being on hand.

We build this product from several items, so this was a concern as the other products did not have their stock adjusted when this item was sold/invoiced.

I have had to adjust these products manually, please explain how this can happen.

We also have several items with odd formulas in the "On Hand" and when you go into the item it has a nil value on hand.

Thanks

Cathie

Hi Archskirt01 this happens to us all the time, and we have to phone and ask them to run a scipt.  We do the same with our inventory that we build from multiple units until a different single unit.   Painful, but just keep an eye on it,  Whenever you see balances with massive decimal point roundings, or negative stocks, its time to get the script run.  Hopefully that solves it for you.

    Hi Archskirt01,

Thanks for the detailed rundown and for taking the time to fix those items manually. I know that’s not ideal. What you’re seeing with the negative on‑hand and the odd “On Hand” formulas points to the underlying item history/inventory data in the file being out of sync, rather than just a simple setup issue. That’s not something you can fully correct from your side, so we’ll need to run some checks and a repair script over your company file. Please reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so we can grab the file, run the appropriate script, and make sure the stock levels and build components are all lining up properly in the background.

    Regards,

    Sai
