Downgrade of user permissions from MYOB Capture

The new MYOB Assist app does not directly replace MYOB Capture app. We used MYOB capture app for your employees to upload receipts for reimbursement. The minimum permissions that app required to do so was 'contacts' and a "read-only" account type. The new MYOB Assist app requires the "purchases' permission and a "create and edit" account type which gives them access to all purchasing information ability to edit purchases if they decide to try logging in online. What the actual F!!!! Does MYOB take accounting access seriously?

We have some exciting news to share with you.  You can now let team members upload receipts without full user access. Use the Contacts role to keep reports and sensitive data protected. To get amongst this new feature, make sure your app is updated then head to our website for a full overview of the roles and what each can do: Manage users

I think I can answer this better than the MYOB team, because my staff had the same issue. If they are still using capture app, and they don't crop the image with the purple box, it was shutting the app down because it will no longer allow full photos if it dosn't look like a receipt.

I asked a similar question and was directed to this thread.

    1. All I need is an electronic way of putting receipts and invoices into my in tray. My staff do not need to have any further access to my file. If that requires access to purchases and cards that should be able to be done behind the scenes.
    2. Making someone sign in with an email and password every time they use the app and then have to change apps to get an authentication code is clumsy. If banks can have you sign in once and then use a pin to access the app, why can't MYOB do the same.
    3. I had hoped this app would streamline how we do things but I won't be "inviting" my staff to have access to my file. My staff won't use it as it is too clumsy to access. I hadn't heard of MYOB Capture but it sounds like it was working and what users wanted.

I don't think you understand that ground staff using capture to take a photo of a receipt to go directly into the in tray for processing, should not have access to anything else. They shouldn't be able to view or edit anything on the company file.  Please leave the capture as it was, as it worked well.  Now we don't have the ability for our ground staff to communicate with receipts back to our office without opening them up to confidential information in the company file.

Yo Patches, They fixed this issue finally 3 months later, I tested it today it works, just make sure apps are up to date. Uses the same minimum permissions that the capture app needed.
