Hi, As I can no longer take an offline backup of my data (as of 17/6/26), does this mean that if MYOB get hacked, I will likely lose all my data? How do I ensure that my data is safe? How can I transfer my data to an external backup location - as recommended by the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) recommends that external and offline backups be completely segregated or disconnected from your main computer network when not in use. This strategy ensures that if your primary systems are hit by ransomware or destructive malware, your backups remain uncorrupted and recoverable.

I agree with Tony Hogan. I need to ensure our data is safe. MYOB, can you please reinstate the option to backup your file locally for security reasons (we prefer to use the desktop version). I have just searched your site and it advises "Online backups can’t be downloaded. Instead, they're available in case you need to restore your online company file to an earlier point in time. You might do this if something unexpected or unwanted has happened in your company file, like a failed import." This is not acceptable and I did not get any correspondence prior to the update of this occurring - terrible decision by MYOB.

Agree with you there. If we get a Non Compliance written up when we have our QA Audit, I'll be tell the Auditor to take it up with MYOB as it's not our fault that we can no longer store our MYOB Backups offline.
