MYOB Backups

I've noticed that the latest version of MYOB 2026.5 no longer has the facility for a local backup.

Maintain the rage! MYOB may change their mind on this, though I personally think this is unlikely, esp if you understood why MYOB is doing this.
A few things to consider:
- MYOB can provide a backup of the online file for a fee - apparently $49.95, (see here) so if you really need one, you can order this from support or via myaccount.myob.com - though it might take a few days or weeks atm given support availability
- MYOX Services can provide a backup of the online file for a fee - likely to be much quicker than MYOB support, and then can provide it in AR2026.4 format allowing offline opening
- you should also know that MYOB backups have never included intray documents - I had a client who recently left MYOB with backup. They did not have their own copies of approx 12k receipts and invoices uploaded to intray - all lost now!
- MYOB over the past few years have significantly changed their terms and conditions in preparation for all these changes - they make the rules to suit them, as do all other providers
