For anyone who needs their own separate copy of MYOB records, MyDataXport may be worth looking at.
It does not bring back MYOB’s local backup option and it does not create a MYOB restore file. MYOB remains the live accounting system.
What MyDataXport does is export MYOB data and attachments into cloud storage controlled by the business, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.
That can help where a business wants an independent archive outside MYOB for record keeping, audit history, EOFY snapshots, migration planning, cancelled subscriptions, or simply retaining access to historical information.
One important point is that attachments matter too. A MYOB backup file on its own may not always give users the practical archive they expect if supporting documents, receipts, invoices, or In Tray attachments are also needed later. MyDataXport is designed around exporting both the data and the attachments so the records can be kept separately and searched later.
