Cannot creat IE File for upload to IRD

Hi, I have upgraded from my trusty old Win 7 computer where everything works to a Win 10 computer.

I have tried doing a pay on the new computer and when going to finalise the pay the journals imported fine into MYOB but the message came up cannot create EI file and when I clicked on the box for employment information return the date and pay number was there but the box "IE file number name" was blank. Clicking on create EI return button gives the same message, cannot create EI return file.

I have tried reinstalling before this due to email issues. I was able to get these sent trying different settings and found using Outlook 2013 and above with view emails before sending worked but I keep on getting various messages with this mostly about needing to set a default email but have Outlook set as the default, as well as have set a default email and data file in Outlook or about server issues.

Any solution, particularly for the EI file issue? I had to switch back over to the Win 7 computer to complete the pay so I could get this generated and uploaded and the pay tonight finalised. Thanks

Have you changed the Bank & IRD settings after moving computer? If not, as you have moved computer it will likely be pointing to the old computer's folder still and you do need to go to Tools>>Options>>Bank & IRD to reset to locations on your new computer. Once completed, do attempt to create that necessary IE file.

Let us know how you get on and if you require further assistance.

Thanks so much, I tried doing that and the backup was going to the right location on my computer but the other link was to the other computer.

Did a dummy pay as backed up an extra time last night and it seems to have worked, I then restored back to the previous backup and deleted the journal and IE file so I wouldn't get confused. Email worked this time also, think I have that sorted now.

Very much appreciate that, didn't think that it would be looking for the location on the old computer.
