Go online from AccountingRight PC Edition

Due to the proposed changes as from 17 June, I contacted MYOB on 4 June and decided to go online with their AccountingRight Plus.  I uploaded the company file as directed by salesperson over the phone and was told it would take 3 -5 days for completion of data transfer. I received a confirmation email from DFR team afterwards. Currently I can still use our PC offline file, and as advised by the salesperson, will need to manually add new entries to online files when it's ready to use.

 

We haven't heard from MYOB since. Now I keep minimal use of the offline file, only to enter invoices that we have to do. 

 

I contacted MYOB this morning, sales transferred me to DFR team. No answering yet, been waiting more than two hours now. 

 

I want to know if the online file will be ready for us before 17 June? If not, what happens?

 

We will use Server Edition for our other two small files, we only use them once a month.

    Once you upload the company file online from your main computer, you'll be able to sign in to the file from another desktop - you won't need to upload it on each desktop to be able to access it online.

    If you open up the AccountRight software on another computer, on the welcome window click on Open > Online and sign in from there, you should be able to see your file listed online.

    Hi 4T2005​ , there is a lot of helpful information on the Community Forum. 
    You can check out the announcement for end of offline mode here

    The TL:DR - if you do nothing, then you wont be able to your offline file after the upgrade.
    What you can do to still view/edit your file:

    • Move the file online (will require a subscription if you do not already have one)
    • Install server edition and continue using your file offline (SE downloads here)
    • Install a version of PC edition prior to 2026.5 *best for one time viewing/editing files as these have an automatic update built in

    Hi Mike_MYOB​ 

    I have received an email from MYOB with a download link, I followed instructions and now AccoutingRight Plus is working well on my desktop . Thank you.

     

    Now I have few questions:

    1, Do we need to download the file on each computer? We have three. 

    2, Do we need to upload the file online? Or this subscription will give us updates and let us continue to work on the desktops?

    3, Can we have multiple users accessing the same file simultaneously? 

     

    I am new to this online thing. Sorry to bother you. Thank you.

    Hey Song​ 

    Glad to hear you've been able to get AccountRight up and running. To answer your questions: 

    1. You will need to download MYOB AccountRight on each computer for desktop access.
    2. Your company file will need to be uploaded online in order to access it on the latest version. You will still be able to access your company file from the desktop software, but the file must be uploaded online. 
    3. Once your company file has been uploaded online, multiple users will be able to access the same file simultaneously. There are instructions on this page for how to add and manage users.

    Hi AmandaMYOB​ 

     

    I have followed your instructions and encountered some issues.

     

    1, I downloaded the data file (email from your data migration team) on our main computer, manually added all new entries from 4 June then went online. The AccountingRight file on main computer is " online".

     

    2, I downloaded the data file on our second computer, data is not updated, last entry date is 3 June. On the bottom right of the screen, it's "Local (My Library)" with "Go online (upload This File).

     

    3, We also want to use a third computer. We want to have desktop access on all these devices. 

     

    What to do with the other two computers for access to the update file?
