Mystery payment with no record, but stopping me from deleting invoice

Hi again everyone

 

I'm still trying to get help with this problem. Many thanks to Melisa who has tried.

 

I was creating an invoice and it suddenly recorded a payment!?  Not sure how I did that, but i've ended up with an invoice that can't be deleted.

 

The error message says you can't delete an invoice which has been paid BUT it was never paid and there is no receipt record showing any payment.  Also NOTHING shows under activity except creating the invoice.  So why does the software think it is paid.

 

I can't fix it because there is no payment receipt to delete or fix?

 

Any ideas.
