Online payment surcharge - mobile app fault

Hi,
We have setup online payments & set the default setting to pass on the surcharges to the customer. This works fine in the desktop version. However, when an invoice is generated in the mobile app it defaults for us to pay the surcharge & theres no option to change it. We can only see this when we look at the invoice on the desktop site.

    Hi Emily_Sam,

It seems you're experiencing an issue where the online payment surcharge defaults to being paid by you when invoices are generated via the mobile app, even though you've set it up correctly in the desktop version to pass the surcharge to your customers. At this time, the mobile app doesn't provide the option to change this setting directly.

I recommend continuing to review the invoices on the software before sending them to ensure the surcharge is applied as intended.

    Regards,

    Sai

    • Hi Sai,

So basically your app isn’t functioning as it should & your solution is for us to double handle the invoice & cause us more work.

Perhaps a more appropriate solution would be for MYOB to fix the issue instead. Very unsatisfied with MYOB response.

The whole point of the app is for convenience on the road & to be able to action invoices in the field & in the go. This is no longer the case.

  • Has this been fixed by MYOB yet?

I was forced to update to include MYOB online payments. I set my default to surcharge paid by customers.

I just got stung with surcharges as I sent invoices by the app as I was unaware of this issue.  I think MYOB should reimburse me for these fees as I was unaware of their faulty app!

      Hi LCN_Electrical,

The reason why you have been charged a surcharge even though you have set your settings for the surcharge to be passed on to your customers is because you sent the invoice via the mobile app. Mobile apps have limited features, and one of these limitations is the inability to pass on the surcharge.

If you prefer using your phone or tablet to send invoices, instead of using the app, you can use the browser on your phone or tablet. Simply log in to  https://app.myob.com/ and send invoices from there. This way, the surcharge settings will be applied correctly.

      Regards,
      Earl
