Printing Packing Slips and Emailing Invoices

Hi,

Each one of my customers has a different want/need for invoice delivery.

I know in the card file you have the options:

To Be Printed

To Be Emailed
To Be Printed and Emailed

Already printed or emailed.

So some orders we despatch where a customer wants a packing slip only, (No invoice).

How would I set it up so when I go to Sales > Print / Email Invoices >

The "To Be Printed Tab" I would want a list of packing slips that need to be printed and packed and dispatched. And the "to be emailed" tab are invoices that need to be emailed to the customer at some stage. When I email the invoices, it drops off this list as it should to show its been done. But the to be printed tab - if I print off a packing slip, it stays on the to be printed tab until I actually print an invoice? Printing a packing slip doesnt seem to recognise as the task is being done.

Hope that makes sense!

Brad

    Hi Rizzactor,

Yes, that makes perfect sense — and thanks for explaining it clearly. In AccountRight, the "To Be Printed" and "To Be Emailed" tabs under Sales > Print/Email Invoices are specifically tied to invoices, not packing slips. Printing a packing slip doesn’t remove the sale from the "To Be Printed" list. Only printing or emailing the invoice clears it from that respective list.

  • Ok, so I might be thick… but how do I print a packing slip then on an invoice I’ve just done?

I’ve got the packing slip “form” customised to suit me. But when I click print, it only gives me the option of printing the invoice

Also, I have been trying to work this out all morning.

I cannot seem to get a record to come up in the "to be printed" part when the "sales type" is Packing Slip Item. There are some there, but I have just created an invoice and I want to print a packing slip for it. Is there a delay in it appearing in this screen?

    Hi Rizzactor,

Great tip!  Just a heads-up if you want to print a packing slip straight after entering an invoice — don’t hit the regular Print button (that’ll just give you the invoice). Instead, look for the view/preview packing slip option at the top of the invoice screen. That’ll bring up your customised packing slip, ready to print or save as a PDF. Super handy!
