Sales- Issues with Receive Payments

Hi,

I have issue with the amount due on inv PAN0574a. The invoice is shown US$16,198.39 owing but the receive payment page is showing US$29,863.86

Is this a system error?

  • Hi LindaKhoo

I suspect this is just one of the many foreign currency issues in AR2023. In the end there was a rush to add multi currency to AR2023 when MYOB announced the end of support for Premier and Enterprise v19 in 2019. Multi currency users were originally unable to upgrade. MYOB defended the delays advising they 'wanted to get it right'. Bugs remain. Sometimes users report invoices remain open even though fully paid - with the discrepancy being the currency gain/loss, leaving the use to close by adding a credit or debit. Some reports don't show the correct currency. Sometimes these are just display issues.

In this case, is it just a screen display issue? What happens when you print the invoice, is the correct amount outstanding displayed?

Moderators report that some display inconsistencies are caused by cached data and recommend users try to 'clear the cache' and re-open the file. See if this helps update the screen display correctly.

    Regards

    Gavin

      Hi Gavin,

Yes, only the display is incorrect & Age Receivable Detail Report.

Age Receivable Reconciliation Detail Report & Customer Statement are OK.

If clearing the cache files may caused odd behaviour then should it be better to leave it as it is?

Is MYOB in future going to resolve this issue?

      Thanks

      Linda

        Hi LindaKhoo

The data in the AR2023 cached files becomes 'stale' or out of date. AR2023 uses the cache to speed up displayed data. When cached data is no longer correct, clearing the cache can correct the display problem. So clearing the cache does not cause the problem, it may solve the display problem. MYOB still haven't worked out how to keep the cached data current.

As with hundreds of other bugs, MYOB moderator's std responses goes something like 'this issue has been reported to the relevant team, we have no estimated timeframe for its correction'. Some bugs reported in AR2011 have still not been fixed. So don't expect a resolution any time soon:(

        Regards

        Gavin
