Hi Leon1973
Unfortunately the 'slowness' of importing in AR2023 is not limited to Inventory Adjustments, all importing is considerably slower than v19 importing. Moderators often recommend the user takes the file offline for such processes and then restore online when you are done. Importing offline is marginally faster and less likely to timeout. Look into applying the timeout extender as well.
There is a way to significantly increase import speeds however only when the file is local, not online.

Gavin

Hi Leon1973 , to add to Gavin's comments, it sounds like your file is very large. Posting transactions to the file via the API is an alternative approach. Results would be less dependent on file size. We do a lot of similar work for clients, highly customized
Reducing your file size by purging (via a 3rd party service) is another very worthwhile avenue to pursue.

Thank you both for your replies. I take it there is no fix in sight? We have asked support previously but nothing resolved several years later. Gavin - importing payroll every fortnight takes 20 mins, new items several minutes but still manageable compared to inventory.
We will look at offline but we can only do on weekends. Mike, we don't notice the file size for other things like opending reports, creating orders - it is laggy compared to running offline but only a second or two, nothing crazy. Will consider a custom interface from you in future but we are hesitant to pay for an alternative to a feature that used to work perfectly fine and is now broken.
Thanks
