How to finalise a resigned worker in STP while still receiving workers compensation payments?

Hi

We have a person who has resigned but will still be receiving workcover payments from worksafe for a couple more months.

How do we put in the resignation in STP but still continue to process through our payroll the payments?

    Hi Sai,

    Thank you for your reply.

It's pretty straight forward - we receive the payment from Workcover and forward to the worker and pay the PAYG to the ATO when we lodge our IAS/BAS.

So if we finalise the worker in MYOB - does that mean that the future payment reports for that worker will not go through to the ATO via STP?

    Hi Tanialmm,

Thanks for explaining this. I understand you’re trying to finalise a worker who has resigned but is still receiving workers’ compensation payments. As the correct treatment can depend on the details of the claim and how the payments need to be reported, we recommend checking with your accountant before finalising the worker in MYOB. They can confirm the correct accounting and STP treatment, including whether any adjustments are required.

    Regards,

    Sai
