MYOB vs Flare support

Hi Team,

We've received an email message below:-

Complete your ATO setup to keep onboarding compliant.

From 1 July 2026, new super stapling requirements will apply when you onboard new employees. To keep your onboarding with us compliant, you'll need to complete a one-off setup in ATO Access Manager so MYOB and Flare can manage stapled fund lookups for your business.

This update helps your business stay compliant during onboarding and gives employees a better experience by helping them make more informed decisions about their super.

To support this, MYOB works with Flare to manage stapled fund lookups on your behalf. Flare is an MYOB-owned company and an existing MYOB subprocessor covered under MYOB’s current terms and privacy policy.

Could someone please let me know whether it is compulsory to register with Flare?

We would like to opt out, as we do not wish to authorise anyone to access our ATO portal.

Thank you

    Hi TIM17

I was wondering too so found the following on the ATO portal it says you're only required to check for a stapled fund in your new employee doesn't nominate their own super fund on an ATO standard choice form

I am writing to express my shared concern regarding this new requirement. Given the lack of an official rollout, please confirm when informational updates and sessions will be provided to users. Furthermore, I request immediate clarification on the following points: the associated costs, the specific parties granted access to our employee data, and how this alignment complies with privacy regulations. Lastly, please clarify why organizations cannot audit or look up these stapled funds directly.

Can we still manually add new employee in MYOB account right from 1 Jul 2026 ?

  • Hey Kris_KP

Stapled fund lookups are becoming a compulsory act for a business to attempt when providing digital onboarding. This comes into effect 1 July 2026.

Flare is an MYOB owned business that powers onboarding for your MYOB clients. Flare will need to be authorised in the ATO Access Manager in order to attempt the stapled fund look up. If authorisation is not provided, businesses will need to perform a manual stapled fund look up which may increase the risk of payment delay for newly onboarded employees.

The business’ Principal Authority/Authorised Administrator can do this easily in the ATO Access Manager. Check out our support article for more information. Hope this clarifies things, feel free to reach out if you have further questions.
