SINGLE TOUCH PAYROLL PHASE 2

Good afternoon,

I upgraded my MYOB file to Single touch payroll Phase 2 at the end of March.  I notified the ATO via Online Access Manager of the change as per the instructions sent out from MYOB.  I have just noticed now that all my payrun's since then have rejected to the ATO. The error code is SBR.GEN.AUTH.008.  I've called the MYOB helpdesk but have been on hold for almost an hour with a wait time of still up to 80 minutes which I can not continue to wait for someone to answer my call.  Can someone please advise on what I have to do to fix this?

Thanks & kind regards,

Rose.

  • Hi RoseyK

Thanks for your post. The error code CMN.ATO.AUTH.008 means that you're not authorised to submit this lodgement on behalf of this client. Depending on which scenario would relate to your situation, I've provided the resolution details below:

    • If you're a tax agent, use your registered agent number and try to lodge again.
    • If you're a business sending on behalf of another business, get an Authorisation administrator to make sure there's a business appointment in Access Manager and provide your credentials if required.
    • If the client is on your client list and is not a restricted client, you may need to remove them from the list, then re-add them before you try to lodge again.
    • You also need to make sure your agent number is linked to the correct agent ABN in Access Manager.

This information is also available on our help article Fix rejected reports in Single Touch Payroll

Do let me know how you go.

      Hi Melisa,

      Thanks for your reply.

I ended up calling the ATO yesterday and even though I was authorised online through access manager, it had not updated on their end for some strange reason.  They just had to re enter the softwared I.D and reauthorise me again.  I have sent an event update and it has been accepted.

      Kind regards,

      Rose.
