STP Phase 2 - transition after EOPY 2021

Hi,

 

We are planning on changing to STP 2 from 1 July.  Will we need to finalise payroll for 2020-2021 (in STP 1) before we changeover?

    Hi Jen_M,

     

    Thank you for your post.

     

    You can change over to STP Phase 2 anytime before our deferral date - 1 January 2023.

     

    If you wish to transition from 1 July, you don't need to finalise your payroll before doing this.

      Hi Sam_R ,

       

      I understand that we can transition to STP 2 at any time.  However, I have been told recently that if we transition to STP 2 before finalising wages for 2021-2022, we will then need to finalise our 21-22 payroll in STP 2 using STP 2 reporting.  Is this correct?  We are still reporting under STP 1 to the end of this month and will have new payroll categories for the disaggregation of gross for STP 2.

        Hi Jen_M,

         

        Apologies for the delayed reply. 

         

        Correct! If you were wanting to finalise your 21-22 payroll in STP Phase 1, you'll have to transition to STP Phase AFTER you've finalised.
