Time in Lieu and Annual Leave hours adjustment

Hi MYOB community

Need confirmation before I proceed actioning.

I have followed the necessary steps to correct the allocation of the "Time in Lieu Earned" and "Time in Lieu Accrued" tabs. Now that this has been resolved, I would like to adjust the balance of the hours. Should I create a pay adjustment or make the changes directly under the entitlement tabs, where the balance adjustment option is available?

Regarding the annual leave issue, an employee who was entitled to Public Holiday Leave had this leave incorrectly left unticked in their card file. However, it was ticked when the payroll was processed, which has resulted in a deduction of hours from the annual leave balance. How should I go about correcting this?

    Hi lvagi,

I would recommend making a pay adjustment to correct the balance, either by adding or subtracting hours against the leave. You can refer to this help page for more information: Leave and entitlements.

    I hope this helps!

    Regards,
    Earl

    • Hi Earl,

Thanks for your response! I tried making the pay adjustment, but I received a caution notification on the Time in Lieu - Earned tab indicating that it would leave a negative balance. Could you please advise on how to proceed in this case?

      Regards,

      Lorraine

        Hi lvagi,

The caution notification appears because the system is alerting you that the adjustment you're attempting would result in a negative balance for the Time in Lieu. Earned tab. If you proceed with entering a negative value, the balance will decrease accordingly, and if the adjustment goes beyond the available balance, it will indeed result in a negative figure.

To avoid this, you can ensure that the adjustment aligns with the current balance of the Time in Lieu. If you're trying to correct or adjust the balance, consider reviewing the totals to ensure the figure are accurate and don't dip below zero.

        Regards,
