Hi accounts_Beaini,
Looks like the issue’s happening because the values being reported only include the new software. Chances are the process of moving the STP over to the new serial number hasn’t been completed yet.
Here’s how you can sort it out:
- Go to Payroll
- Click Single Touch Payroll reporting
- Select ATO settings
- Hit Edit STP business details
- At Step 6 for Transfer BMS ID, choose Yes and pop in your previous BMS ID.
This should pull through the values from both the old software and the new one so everything adds up properly.

Hi Genreve,
Thank you for the information.
The ATO has received all data from both MYOB files. The total wages downloaded from the ATO portal match the total salary reported in the two MYOB files.
We have completed the BMS ID transfer in the new MYOB file. However, under Single Touch Payroll Reporting/EOFY Finalisation, we can still see only 10 months of wages.
Should we try to activate the old MYOB file to submit the STP EOFY finalisation for the 2 months of wages (as this file was previously the live MYOB file), and then submit the 10 months of STP EOFY finalisation using the new MYOB file? (as if each employee receiving two group certificates from the same company for different periods.)

Hey Accounts888,
You’ve nailed the BMS ID transfer in the new file, so you’re on the right track. There’s no need to reactivate the old file. It’s completely normal that you’re seeing just the 10 months of wages in the new file. The 2 months from the old file don’t carry over visually, but as long as the Year-To-Date (YTD) amounts in the ATO portal match up with what’s reported from both files combined, you’re all sorted. The ATO already has the full picture, and the total wages from both files align perfectly, so EOFY finalisation can be done straight from the new file without splitting it up or creating two group certificates.
Cheers,
Doreen
