AR SE version not opening up my files

I need to use online and offline versions and having trouble logging in.  I have downloaded the SE edition, with all good intentions of using it for the 3x offline data files (I purchased 5-data file software with no need to put these online).  I also contract to other companies and access their on-line data files.  So I downloaded SE, did a backup of the 3 files, created the SE file to go to a new library I created (where I put the backups), turned off my internet on my computer (just in case), and can't open anything up. What do I do now?

 

I never asked for any upgrades and complained a few times when this happened.  

 

Thanks for your help, I don't want to get to mid-June and can't open these files any more.

    Thanks Gavin, yes I have 2x Libraries at present with 2x Icons (one is SE) on my desktop (2x different software supposedly on my desktop) - but if I turn off my internet I can't access the desktop datafiles.  Grrrr.

    Sounds like what you need are 2 desktop icons, one for online files that updates, and one for offline files that does not update. 

     

    If you don't know how to do this, don't expect MYOB to help as they claim it can't be done. Get someone who knows what they are doing to set this up for you.  Contact me via email if you want me to put you in touch with someone who can set this up remotely for you for a small fee.

     

    Forget about SE, this can cause Library issues where AR2026 cannot find your files - possibly what you have experienced. IMHO you are better off using AR2026.4 PC edition for access to offline files with updates disabled for that version.

    So, none of your suggestions is working for me.  I have tried to speak to someone before about this and they didn't understand what I was trying to say.  Your "support team" don't understand why we cant' open our files, when the upgrades in software have forced us to upgrade out desktop files.  This is a major PR error for MYOB I'm afraid to say.  Do you have any further suggestions?

    From what you’ve described, this might be related to the issue we had yesterday that was also reported by other users.
     

    A couple of things that have helped in similar cases are:
     

      -reinstalling AccountRight Server Edition

      -if available, installing and trying the PC Edition instead, as some users have had success opening their files that way
